The Kalanka is ME's current top of the range hardshell. Advanced materials and construction techniques combine to create one of the best hardshells available.
The Kalanka is made using a 3 layer stretch Gore-Tex Pro Shell fabric that is both durably waterproof and breathable and also stretchy too. So next time you're near the edge on that Cairngorm mixed test piece you've had your eyes on all winter, you won't be impeded in any way if the Kalanka is a part of your arsenal. Topping out into a raging storm on the plateau won't be a problem either, as ME's new Super Alpine Hood will have things covered. It fits over a wide range of helmet sizes much better than past ME hood designs and cinches down really nicely around the face. The extra high collar also provides a cosy refuge to hunker down in and escape the wind.
The 2 way Riri Aquazip up the front is engineered to be completely waterproof and also durable and easy to use with gloves on, whilst the laminated 2 way pit zips are hardly noticeable until you need them.
The Kalanka's cut is fully articulated for great freedom of movement and with the added stretch element in the fabric this jacket really does feel like you're wearing a soft shell rather than a fully protective hardshell.
